Baby Girl..

This was something that one of my friend's sent me when my baby girl was born..

Your little baby's here at last,
And your hearts all awhirl,
As you thank God above for sending
You a little girl.

She'll wrap you around her little finger,
With her innocent little eyes
And you'll want to give her
All that she desires.

And as you cradle her sweet head
And hold her in your arms,
You are holding a piece of Heaven,
Who will thrill you with her charms.

For little girls have a special way
Of looking up at you
And thanking you and loving you,
For all the things you do.

when I am reading it today.. I can't help but wonder how true....

Veg grilled Sandwich - inspired from cool zone

There is a sandwich corner called "cool zone" near my house. I just love the egg sandwich and the burgers that they make there.. My hubby likes the veg grilled sandwich from there. So few days back I went to that shop asked the guy there how he prepares and got the recipe :). After some permutations and combinations here is the recipe for "the grilled sandwich"..

Things you need:
Bread - 4 slices
Tomato, Onion, cucumber, potato thinly sliced - around 6 - 7 slices each
black olives and jalapenos chopped - 1 tbsp (This is my addition)
cheese slices - 2 slices ( I use amul lite)
tomato sauce - 4 tbsp
salt and pepper for taste.

Method:
Lay 2 slices of bread on the baking tray
Smear Tomato sauce on the slices.
Arrange onion, tomato, cucumber and potato slices on this.
Sprinkle salt and pepper.
Place cheese on top.
decorate this with olives and jalapenos.

Cover with the other 2 slices.
Grill for 8 - 10 mins. (top slice becomes golden brown in color).
Grilled sandwich ready to eat.

Potato Peas Chaat

When I am at home, I prefer eating snacks rather than eating a full fledged lunch.. Now as I have too much time on my hand!! I thought I will update my blog..

I made aloo mutter the other day and as always miscalculated the amount of peas I soaked and cooked for it.. this miscalculation of vegetables always happens with me.. I think this is the reason why I end up cooking a lot of fast foods..

So for the potato and peas masala

potato - 1 boiled and chopped.
peas - 1/2 cup cooked with a little salt
puffed rice - 1 cup
green chillis paste - 1 tbsp
pudina paste - 2 tsp
tamarind chutney - 1 tbsp
oil - 1 tsp
crushed potato chips - 2 tbsp
salt

Method:
Mix all the ingrediants and server immediately.

Note:
I usually get a big bunch of pudina leaves. grind then and store the paste in the fridge.
Tamarind chutney - If I am preparing it use Tarla Dalal's recipe else I use maggie bhelpuri chutney.

Sabakki Sendige (Sabudana Papad)

Summer is arriving.. In my house my MIL and her sisters have started perparing pickles and papads :). I am enjoying this coz I am the official tater of stuff that they prepare..

Today we did sabakki sendige.

You need:
Sabakki - 1 litre
green chilli paste - 4 tbsp (as per taste)
Salt - as per taste
Hing - 1 tsp

Method:
Soak the Sabakki in water for 2 hrs

Add the green chilli paste, salt and hing.
Put in the plastic as shown below and keep it in sun for 2 - 3 days.
